For greater acoustic comfort in sterile environments
Certain types of surgery can be particularly long and complex and require constant, intense concentration on the part of the surgeons and other medical staff. Noise from outside the operating theatre can disturb doctors, distracting them from their efforts.
It is to protect surgeons against this type of disturbance that SPENLE has developed its STILLROOM® doors. These doors are not only airtight to maintain the sterile conditions and protect the patient, but they also feature enhanced acoustic insulation – achieving noise reduction of up to -40dB on certain models (tests carried out and test reports issued by the COFRAC-accredited CSTB test laboratory).
The STILLROOM® doors were designed taking account of the mass law and by creating a mass+spring+mass system.
Above all, these are hermetically sealed doors featuring excellent peripheral seals. In addition, the door frame and leaf are also modified and filled with different types of heavy, absorbent materials in order to absorb and attenuate vibration and sound waves. The porthole or vision panel will also be made of acoustic glass.
SPENLE produces two types of soundproof, airtight doors:
- swing soundproof, airtight doors– SP250 STILLROOM®
- sliding soundproof, airtight doors – SP450 STILLROOM®
The swing doors can reach a noise reduction of up to -35 dB, while the sliding doors can even achieve a sound attenuation of up to -40dB.
Some applications of soundproof, airtight doors:
- Sliding soundproof, airtight doors for surgical suites
- Soundproof airtight doorsets for animal research laboratories
- Swing soundproof, airtight doors for a veterinary clinic
